A widow in Lagos state has shocked residents when what she does to schoolgirls was revealed. The woman identified as Chinonso Okolokwo was paraded by Lagos state police command alongside some criminals for allegedly recruiting young
schoolgirls as commercial sex workers in a hotel in Surulere area of the state during school hours. While being paraded by the police, she denied the charge saying she was only a commercial sex worker. She said she worked at a hotel located at Ikate area of Surulere. According to Vanguard, the commissioner of police, Lagos state command, Mr. Fatai Owoseni, while speaking to newsmen about the arrest disclosed that the suspect’s method was to lure the students from different secondary schools around Surulere to the hotel. He also revealed that Chinonso would then give the students clothes to change into and use them as sex slaves until school closing hours. Some of the students, as gathered, went home with between N1,000 and N2,000, depending on the number of men they attended to.But the amount, it was learned, was just 10 percent of what was paid by their male customers, while the rest was allegedly pocketed by their managers, among who is Okolokwo.Chinonso however during her interview with Vanguard said, she was from Ebonyi State.“I do not know anything about the schoolgirls. Iam also a ‘hustler’ at Sunderland Hotel. I took to prostitution after the death of my husband 11 years ago. I have four children, but two died before my husband. I lodged at the hotel for a week or two before going home to take care of my children with the proceeds. Several girls from Abuja and other parts of the country come there to hustle as well.Police raided the hotel and arrested me. I am not connected with what they alleged,”she added. The commissioner of police, Fatai Owoseni said investigation was still ongoing to determine if there was evidence of collusion between management of the hotel, the schoolsauthorities, the suspect, Chinonso and the others who fled during the arrest.Meanwhile, recently new facts have emerged on how some secondary school girls were tricked into prostitution by a suspected human trafficker, Abigail Nweke Alo, who promised to take them to Lagos. The schoolgirls explained how the madam made themsleep with about 20 men daily. Findings by Vanguard revealed that the four schoolgirls, Charity Nkwogor, Felicia Nzuworgar, Angela Benjamin amd Patience Williams all between 17 and 18 years old, were forced into prostitution by the woman who owned a brothel in Calabar business area.
