Rival cult groups clash in Ikorodu many feared dead

There is serious panic in Ikorodu, a suburb of Lagos, as residents of Adamo, Mojoda, Arora and Ipoyewa are being terrorised by rival cult groups.
In a telephone conversation with one of the residents, it was gathered that a fight ensued between the Black Axe and Eiye confraternity groups on Wednesday, July 5, leaving more than six people dead in the process.The woman who pleaded anonymity also said that people have been restricted from leaving the confines of their homes by members of theNigeria Police Force (NPF) and vigilante groups in the area.According to her, some group of persons suspected to be members of the Black Axe cultwere dressed in all black and each of them carried machetes.The reason for the clash, it was also revealed, was that the Black Axe group wanted to get even after the other cult group killed many of their members during a recent clash.This is not the first time that violence has beenreported in Ikorodu and its environsas some alleged Niger Delta militants last month, unleashed terror to landlords in area,killing over 30 people, leaving many others injured.
