Five years after the gruesome murder of students of Federal Government College Buni Yadi, Yobe state, the college’s Old Boys Association has held its maiden reunion, remembering their fallen colleagues in the hands of Boko Haram terrorist group.
The maiden edition of the event was deliberately organised Saturday in Damaturu to coincide with the 5th anniversary of the gruesome murder of the innocent students.

Since the massacre in 2014, the college in Buni Yadi has remainded a shadow of itself as it now operates academic activities temporarily at Federal Government Girls’ Colleage, Potiskum.
President of the Association, Abba Disa, while celebrating the maiden reunion, said they worked hard to ensure that the college bounces back and take its rightful position among its peers nationwide.
“The school is currently operating at Federal Government Girls’ College (FGGC) Potiskum since when it was destroyed by the insurgents which led to drop of school enrolments in the area,” Disa stated.
On his part, the President-General of the Unity Schools in Nigeria, Lawrence Wilbert represented by Hamman Adil Adamu said adhoc committee was set up on rebuilding Northeast schools affected by Boko Haram insurgency.
