For the caption, she wrote, "post run thrus, 3 am with @girlknewyork," referring to Brooklyn-based tattoo artist Mira Mariah, who gave Grande a delicate yet sizable branch of leaves on her torso.
The singer also wrote, "not a cover up just evolvin," likely referring to how one of the new leaves — none of which are shaded or colored — encompasses her preexisting "always" tattoo that was reportedly done in ex-fiancé Pete Davidson's handwriting. The word is still visible and fits perfectly within the borders of the leaf.
