Jose Mourinho still wants Manchester United to sign Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane despite recruiting Victor Lindelof this month, according to reports in Spain.
Don Balon, as quoted by the Daily Express, is reporting that the Red Devils are keen on signing the France international from the Champions League winners in the summer transfer window.

Varane has regularly been linked with a move to Manchester United since his former Real Madrid manager Mourinho took over the reins from Louis van Gaal in 2016.

The the same article in the Spanish media outlet claims that Mourinho is prepared to guarantee the France defender regular first-team football in order to lure the 24-year-old to Old Trafford.

Manchester United signed Sweden international in a £30.7m deal from Portuguese champions Benfica in the first summer deal in the transfer window last week.

Lindelof will be competing with Eric Bailly, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Marco Rojo and Daley Blind for a spot at centre-half in Mourinho’s team.

Manchester United secured a return to the Champions League last season thanks to a 2-0 win against Dutch giants Ajax in the Europa League final.

Real Madrid and Varane, meanwhile, won their third Champions League crown in four seasons earlier this month after a 4-1 victory over Serie A giants Juventus.
