Suspected female kidnapper escapes death

A yet-to-be identified suspected child kidnapper was
almost lynched to death yesterday morning after she
allegedly abducted two children in front of a primary
school.


It was learned that the suspected kidnapper met her
Waterloo at Owode Ajegunle area of Ikorodu while
attempting to escape with two children she abducted.
Vanguard learned that irate mob descended on the
suspected kidnapper and stripped her naked immediately a
woman alerted people within the community of her
suspicious movement.
According to an eyewitness, the children were rescued
after a woman identified one of them and the way the
suspect was walking.
“The woman suspecting foul play, called the child’s
mother, who said she had been searching for her child.
The former then told the people in the community that the
suspect had abducted the children.
“The people while rescuing the children beat her to stupor,
but for the timely intervention of operatives of the Nigerian
police, who rescued the suspected kidnapper, she would
have been lynched.”
The eyewitness added that while people were beating her
that she allegedly confessed she would have sold each of
abducted the children to her buyers for the sum of N50,
000.
Spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, SP
Dolapo Badmus, while confirming the incident said “At
about 4:30p.m, a distressed call was received that a
suspected kidnapper was caught at Zion Street Ajegunle,
Ikorodu Road. Immediately Anti crime patrol officers were
mobilised to the scene where a woman seriously battered
by angry mob was rescued.
The intervention of men on duty brought the situation
under control. The suspect was rushed to emergency unit
of Ikorodu General Hospital for treatment. She confessed
to the alleged crime and was immediately transferred for
investigation.”
